Paris Fashion Week Ends Today, But The Chicken Month Has Just Started!

Some say: “Find beauty in the ordinary”. That’s what Matteo Tranchellini and Moreno Monti did. The only thing is that these chickens and roosters are by no means ordinary.

The photographic duo Matteo Tranchellini and Moreno Monti have been working together for a while, but it was in 2013 that something different caught their eyes. Matteo was looking for a Concincina as a pet for his studio in Milan when he met a farmer, Giorgio, who invited him to an aviary show. Moreno came along and it was in this very important day that they stumbled upon these amazing animals. With a camera in their hands, they couldn't miss the chance to immortalize such beauty. It was like going to a real fashion catwalk: these chickens had their own attitude and were so confident!

How the CHIC!Ken Project began

We met Moreno and Matteo last year in Milan, at a photographic exhibition. When we first saw their photographs, we were sure that we would have something incredible in front of us. Our first thought was "it would be awesome to own an amazing coffee table book to fully appreciate all of these stunning photos".That's exactly why Atellani teamed up with the duo to bring you CHIC!ken, A Photographic Collection. Milan is the city of fashion, and surely these creatures needed their own spotlight. So we put ourselves to work.

The Chicken Collection

The collection mainly includes the book and high quality photographic prints. The 3D effect of the lighting, the colors and the details creates a dramatic effect. It's as if you were looking at an oil painting from Caravaggio, but it’s actually a photograph! Some of these photo prints are limited editions, signed and numbered by the authors.

As animal lovers (remember our last post?), we felt the need to spread the word to others like us and to create more. Days went by and different ideas started to come to us. As a result, the collection grew. A selection of ironic accessories such as fashionable journals, a sassy calendar, a package of model composites and funny quote posters are some of our creations which are also now part of the collection.

Brings These Chicks Home With You

A few days ago we decided to bring this project to life by launching a campaign. Thanks to all of our backers, our Kickstarter campaign is already fully funded. All in only 3 days! Pledges keep pouring in from all over the world... Needless to say we are overwhelmed with the response we've been receiving! We knew we couldn’t be the only ones falling in love with these animals.
